DRF-II

is a radio frequency detector for 243 MHz.
 
It is used to pinpoint
Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) ,also called
Radio Beacon.
ELT are activated automatically at bailout. They send a signal to locate the pilot. For this purpose they are transmit-only devices.
